A Little about Me
My name is Amy Lee (Barnett) and I have been riding and showing stock horses for 35 years.I live in Keego Harbor Michigan with my husband John . I started out as a youth in 4-H and advanced to breed shows a few years later. Riding and showing horses has always been my passion. I spent alot of time watching the older kids and trainers to see what made them different, what it took to "win". I have taken all of the things I have learned over the years as well as continuing education clinics and developed my own "style" of training and riding. I have coached many riders and trained many horses up through the ranks to become some of the best, most well rounded riders on our circuits today. I am a current member of APHA, PtHA, AQHA as well as some local open circuits in our area.
I believe that my years of success in the show ring have been instrumental in my ability to teach others and make them tough competitors. My theory is not only to train a horse so that I can ride it well, but one that the owner is competent and confident riding. My students play a large role in the day to day training of their horses making it easier for them to understand the whole process. I believe that horses and riders need a low stress environment to help them feel comfortable while learning. The end result is a well rounded horse and rider team that have the tools to become successful in and out of the arena.
What I offer
I offer full and part time training/lessons packages that are centered around the talents and abilities of both horse and rider. Private and semi private lessons offer students more one on one time to help fine tune their skills. Each lesson is carefully thought out and students progress at their own pace giving them a chance to thoroughly understand each step before moving on to the next.
My business is primarily based out of Holly Michigan and I am fortunate enough to have 2 great facilities to offer my services at.
